I find myself thinking back to the protests here in Wisconsin in 2011 that occurred simultaneously with the Arab Spring uprisings. During the bitter cold, snow and sometimes rain (as well as a few bouts of unseasonably mild weather), more than 200,000 people peacefully gathered every weekend around the Capitol Square in Madison to protest the actions of the ultra-right Republican governor and legislators that were enacting radical attacks on every progressive value Wisconsin had represented. It was the test grounds for building the space that would allow someone like Trump to not only be elected but to stay in power despite having been proven to have used foreign powers to manipulate the election and the policies we see being pushed through by the Republican controlled Congress. While it got far too little attention by the national press, thousands of people occupied the inside of the Capitol building, creating a community complete with childcare, nursing stations, drum circle, and free food delivery. We watched tea party protesters that had been paid to incite violence arrive and hit a wall of peace/love energy so strong that they would almost freeze, then get expressions of bewilderment as if they forgot why they were there and then slink away as quickly as they could. We watched on duty police on horseback maintain the peace and off-duty police officers with identifying police union shirts join the protesters. On the night before the Republicans threatened to forcibly remove the protesters and close the Capitol to the public in direct violation of the state constitution, we watched people of all ages flood into the capitol building (like the knit-in group that I participated in) and we cheered as the off-duty police carrying sleeping bags arrived to hold the line against the force. Overnight the ACLU working with the police taught those inside about how to peacefully resist removal, they spoke with everyone present about what it could mean, and they told that the on-duty police who were going to be forced to enforce the removal order had set a specific time and were instructed as well on how to do this without violence. The tension built inside and outside the Capitol that day as the designated hour of closing approached. We were laughed at by the spokesperson for the DNC who later ran Hillary's campaign. We were mocked by John Stewart on the Daily Show for being excessive in drawing parallels to what was happening in Madison with pre-Nazi Germany. That night the capitol stayed open as the Capitol Police refused to enforce an order which they said violated the laws of the state constitution. Unfortunately days later the Republicans called a 3am vote to pass the bill which would outlaw public workers unions and would take nearly $900K out for the public schools. The governor fired the Capitol police chief and replaced him with a crony. And then Wisconsin became the testing ground for every Koch Brothers / ALEC policy wish list to be passed. 8 years later we managed to elect a Democrat governor and Attorney General, but the Republican controlled legislature immediately passed unprecedented (and truly illegal) legislation taking away the governing powers of both offices which were upheld by a Republican controlled court. We who lived this period in Wisconsin are never surprised by the actions of the Trump administration as it rolls back environmental, healthcare, and social justice policies because we knew that they'd chosen Wisconsin (the birthplace of the progressive party and of public workers unions) as their test grounds. AND we see that today as they use their militarized federal police forces and their ultra-right paramilitary groups in Portland.
America needs to understand that Portland is their test ground for similar reasons ... a community known for its political and economic progressivism. This is their test ground to see whether Americans, US military, and local police officials will stand by and allow authoritarian suppression. It is also their test ground to see if they can amplify the energies and emotions of fear to create civil war.
I say this not from fear but from knowing. I watch the path that is being chosen by the collective with sadness because other paths could have been chosen. And I know that the work many of us have incarnated for is manifesting now. The old ways that were never just, never equal despite our beliefs and best attempts to strive for that ideal are crumbling now. The consequences of hiding the truth of intended or unintended consequences of laws, political and economic systems, actions and inactions of people are no longer hidden in the shadows, they are being brought to light so we as a collective can take personal accountability for what was and remember who we truly are. We are in the valley between the old world which can no longer and the new world that cannot yet be seen. Some will fight to stay in the valley of darkness. Some will choose to build encampments there or even fortresses. Those who have remembered who we truly are, who incarnated to embody divine love, are now being called to climb out of the valley up the new mountain, to hold the space of unconditional love and the knowledge that ALL that we see is divine, and to shine our lights brightly like lighthouses illuminating the way of remembrance for those in the valley who choose to move forward out of the darkness and into the yet unknown world. It is a choice of division or unity. Those who choose to climb the new mountain can only go there when they can watch those in the valley and hold all that they see in love and blessing. That which you cast out of the light through judgment calls you back to that level of vibration. This is universal law.
If you choose to serve by actively participating in the protests, you will need to learn the ways of peaceful resistance and will need to hold compassion for those who attempt to defile you with words and violent actions. If you choose other paths, whether that be teaching or healing or just being love and light, you will need to be vigilant not to allow the small self (the ego mind) to see yourself as "more enlightened" which is just another game of separation. Every being, every “thing” in the physical realm of planet earth is an expression of the divine. The limitations of physical form and the collective agreements of centuries of choice have created the illusion of separation and have led us to this point of unsustainable individuation and extreme separation. We have witnessed or learned of individuals throughout time who held and embodied the knowing that we are all divine and united through unconditional love, those who are not moved from their inner peace and mission no matter what humanity throws at them (e.g. Jesus, Buddha, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, Dalai Lama and others). Those who have gone within to their divine light and can now see the world through the Christ eyes and the heart mind are increasing in number and holding the space to help lift those who have begun to look for the path.
It will most likely get worse before it gets better. The collective has already chosen the ascension at their higher self (true self) level and their soul level. Fear is created through the belief that we are separate. All injustice in the world comes from the illusion of separation and the resulting fears/judgments. When one releases the fears and remembers divine connection - the energetic connection of what is, was and ever can be - and embodies love, the understanding of creation and choice allow the world to be seen as new. Faith is the knowing that the only "sin" is the belief that anyone or anything is not of God, separate from the others. Many have taught the soul cycles of birth (embodiment into form), life in form, death (transition out of form), reconciliation (personal accountability for choices) and resurrection or rebirth. Humanity and the world created by collective agreement (countries, systems, beliefs) are currently in the stage of reconciliation.
The new world has always been here. What is changing is our ability to see it because we lift beyond the belief of separation. It will still be a world of individual expression and of different levels of vibration. It is not uni-dimensional. There is not one defined way of being or knowing. Individuals will still express different vibrations (tones) and even different octaves (levels of soul progression). What will be gone is the imbalance, the basis of violence, competition, and war. It is a world beyond our current language so we must surrender to our knowing. I invite you now to enter the path or continue along the path you’ve already embarked upon. Walk bravely knowing unconditional divine love supports you. Judge nothing and no one, including yourselves for making choices of separation. Shine your light. Hold your hearts open. Be.
