Seja bem vindo a Indigo Soulways!
My name is Gigi and I am a medium and spiritual healer. Spirit Art is the main focus of my current practice. My inspirational art and animal totem art is available for purchase through the store listed on the menu bar above.
A combination of my shamanic training along with my training as a professional medium have led to a unique ability to connect people with their power animals. Some people already know at least one of their power animals, but most people have more than one power animal or have animal energies which come to work with them on a specific challenge. By using my link to the spirit world, I am able to connect to one of the client's animals - usually it is the animal that Spirit feels is most needed by the client at this time. With the guidance of Spirit, I draw an original drawing representing that animal totem. I also often receive information about how and why that animal totem works with the client. Each drawing is unique and clients are encouraged to meditate in the presence of these drawings in order to strengthen their connection to their power animal. I honor people's requests for drawings of specific animals, but I encourage clients to allow me to ask Spirit which animal is most needed or connected to the client at the time of the reading, as these are often more powerful messages.
I also have the ability to do spirit portraits of a client's spirit guides or deceased loved ones. Spiritual assessment readings are included with drawings of spirit guides. Evidential readings with messages are provided with drawings of loved ones. When doing these types of readings, I allow Spirit to determine which guide or which loved one will come through. Spirit always provides that guide or that loved one who will be most healing for the client to receive message from at that time.

What is the difference between a psychic and a medium?
One of the most common questions people have is what is the difference between a psychic and a medium. A “psychic” is a catch-all term for anyone who works with information received by means other than their five recognized physical senses. This information is what informs your “intuition.” Everyone is psychic to some degree, but not everyone is a medium.
Some professional psychics have worked with and developed their intuitive senses well enough to be able to “read” information recorded in people’s energy fields, or auras, and to use this extrasensory perception (or intuitive senses) to make informed predictions of what might happen in your life. They do not generally connect to souls or energies in other dimensions like the Spirit World.
A medium is a psychic in that he or she has learned to fine-tune the use of their intuitive senses to receive messages from the Spirit World. Many people will occasionally experience some random mediumistic experiences, like smelling the perfume of a loved one who has passed or suddenly thinking about a loved one who has passed when picking up a coin from the ground. Professional mediums have trained to develop a strong link to other dimensions and to tune into the information being transmitted through these other senses.
Mediumship is more than using intuition to read information available in any beings magnetic energy field. It involves opening the medium’s energy field and senses to energies or souls that are no longer present in our lives in physical form. There are several distinct categories of mediumship: mental mediumship, physical mediumship and trance mediumship.
The first and most common form is called mental mediumship. It is how I work when giving readings. Mediums utilizing mental mediumship place themselves in a highly active mental state in order to perceive information from the intuitive senses. The medium is full conscious at the time of the reading, although many mediums will not fully recall what they told you during a reading – which is one of the reasons that people are often encouraged to record readings. Mental mediumship uses the mind – the intuitive mind, not the rational or logical mind – to tune into higher frequencies or energies at which spirits vibrate. Mediums using this method of mediumship are able to sense impressions from the spirit world and communicate those impressions to the person for whom they are doing a reading.
There are a number of intuitive senses (sometimes referred to as “the clairs”). The four most commonly talked about of these senses are:
Each medium works with the intuitive senses that are best for them. Think of the analogy of an athlete who can play a specific sport but performs best in a certain position because their talents are best suited for that position. How I receive, or any other medium receives, information depends in part on the spirit who is communicating and in part on what is being communicated, but the spirit world knows what senses are each medium’s strength and uses those to assure that the messages are communicated with the greatest possible accuracy. I primarily work with claircognizance and clairsentience; however, in my work doing readings, I have experienced information from almost all of the senses.
Two other types of mediumship are physical mediumship and trance mediumship. In physical mediumship, the actual physical body is used to get information from spirit. Channeling is a well-known form of mediumship. Mediums using physical mediumship may get information by holding an object that belonged to a specific person. Or they may make gestures or facial expressions that will remind the person receiving the reading of the loved one in the spirit world. The medium is often not consciously aware that they are making that facial expression or gesture. In trance mediumship, the medium enters a passive mental state known as a trance, similar to deep meditation, in order to allow spirit world to communicate their message directly. Trance mediums who give readings are generally completely unaware of who in the spirit world spoke or what was said.
Certain individuals are more prone to mediumship than others. Mediums choose to develop and use their senses to facilitate communication between the spirit world and the physical world for a variety of reasons. Most often it is because of a deep calling to be of service to others in the physical world – to help heal grief or to provide guidance, as well as to prove life after death. They develop and hone their skills over a period of time much like an athlete or other professional. It is both a profession and a way of life.
The most common public image of a medium is one who gives private and/or group readings. This is in part due to television exposure of this form of mediumship. Some mediums are called to use their abilities more through writing or creating art or writing music by tapping into spiritual energies. I believe that all artists at some level are mediums of spiritual inspiration, but some have the special abiity to connect to spirit and draw portraits of departed loved ones and spirit guides, as well as energy art. Some mediums are healers who work with spiritual healing energy, or even spirits who were healers or medical professionals while in the physical world, to provide a connection between the spiritual healing energy and the person seeking healing.
I use my mediumship in all of these ways: spirit art, evidential readings, healing, and writing. I also use my mediumship to teach and coach others how to connect to their intuitive senses, as well as to teach others what I know about life after the transition we call death from what I have learned through working with spirit.
It is the greatest and most humbling experience to be able to provide this service to those who seek it, as well as to the Spirit World.
